Buying a Laptop??? HP Anyone....

When looking for a cool laptop you must remember a few things first such as the price, weight, battery life, and Wi-Fi specs. When it comes to finding a laptop its best to set up a budget prior of how much you are willing to pay for a notebook. The average price for a good laptop would cost you approximately $1500. I previously owned a Compaq Presario R3000 with all the add-ons costing $1300. The same computer you can find going for only about $350 on EBay. (Note: Some of the same computers you love can be found on auction, but be aware of the specs and warranties). The reason I loved the Presario was for the convenience, is had ample enough space for everything that I needed and wanted it to do. Some flaws included the weight of the laptop because it was 8 lbs (that can be heavy on a long day). The cooling fans were placed underneath so you have to place it on a flat surface or it will overheat.

In my opinion if you’re looking for a computer you should look toward HP. I find that Hewlett-Packard has great computers. I just brought and HP Pavilion dv6700t it cost $1200, which included everything that I wanted on the laptop. Some of the features that were included were new HP Imprint Finish, Fingerprint Reader, web-cam, and 250 GB.

Looking for a laptop you always like to think about how much it weighs. I know personally I don’t want to carry something that is heavy. You want something that will not weigh you down or feel like your caring bricks. The new laptop I have is only 6.14 lbs and it feels lighter than a feather. Most laptops are made lighter than the previous laptops made 4 years ago. The battery life is another issue when looking for a laptop because you don’t want to have a laptop where the battery don’t last more than a few minutes or an hour. A good battery life consists of 3 hours or so; depending upon how many applications you have running and what you’re doing on the computer. So please consider the battery life when you’re purchasing a laptop. Finally, the Wi-Fi or the connectivity when it comes to being able to connect to the wireless network. The most common standard Wi-Fi consists of 802.11b, 802.11a, and 802.11g. The only thing when making your decision is that you understand 802.11a is not compatible with 802.11b or 802.11g.
