Taking Pictures...... By Anthony

It’s that time of year where you have most of your family outings and you bring out your camera to capture moments to last a lifetime. People wonder how to be a great photographer and my answer to that is everyone is a great photographer in their own way. Like they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Every person doesn’t see the same thing, so if you see something that you may not see again just take the photo.
I may not be a well known photographer but I feel that I can give you a few ideas on making your photos come out well. You don’t need an expensive camera to take great photos. You can pick up a point and shoot camera from the corner store and your photos can come out great. Since most people have digital camera, I will talk about them. Here are a few steps for great photos.
1. Don’t be afraid to get too close.
2. If you think it’s too dark, you are right use the flash.
3. Turn off that digital zoom.
4. Don’t be afraid to make mistakes.

If you are shy taking photos will be hard for you, you have to get close to what you want to shoot. If you don’t have a high power lens, you have to get within 3 ft of whatever you are shooting.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is that their photos come out too dark. This can be fixed by just using the flash. Most camera comes with different modes, if you set your camera to the setting you are in, your photos could come out. For example there is the party mode (picture is man wearing hat), automatic mode (green circle or book), night mode and etc.

Most digital cameras come with two types of zooms. The two types are digital and optical zoom. People notice that their camera comes with a 16x digital zoom and feel that means it’s a great camera option. PLEASE DON’T PLAY YOURSELF. This option is useless so please turn it off. The best zoom on your camera is the optical zoom. The difference between the two is digital zoom takes whatever is on the screen and zooms in on that and optical zoom is whatever the camera can see in its range without causing the photo to be unclear.
On a Last note, I believe that photography is about making mistakes so feel free to make mistakes you will get better.
