By now you have all heard the tale of the man who was once King. Vince Young, Vinny the Vince I calls him, disappear following a bad opening day in which he threw picks, and became injured. His team did when but, in front of the very fans who he has given his body for the last 3 years, he was boo'ed.Now following the poor performance, following the booing, VY was stand-offish from the team and apparently, the next day/that evening he left so distraught that family, friends, and eventually the Titans called police looking for him for his safety. He was found fine, he talked it out, and is back at practice.
While I do not know VY personally, I do know him publishally (meaning I read things people write about him) and what I do know is VY is a passionate man who gives it everything he has. Even back in Texas, he did whatever he could to lead those who depended on him to success. He is the anti-Randy Moss. I love the Man Named Moss, but fact is when going gets rough he is the first one gone. He quit in Minny, he quit in Oakland, and frankly I think he quit in the Super Bowl last Feb. He has unmatched talent, unmatched skills but he will lead you to victory, not carry you. Not VY, VY will carry you if he has too. People see this latest event as a sign VY is a bust, poppycock. Vince lead the 3rd place Titans into the playoffs last year; no 3rd place team has any business being in the playoff hunt, let alone in the AFC. The guy can play football. Fact is, what Vince needs is for him to not care. Not care about winning, not care about fans, not care about those who depend on him. That's what he NEEDS to do, can he do it? Can he personally do it? I have no idea, some men are born with a compulsion to be what is needed. Can he professionally do it? I have no idea, part of his game is that willingness to go all out, to give 130%. It may not be done, but if he doesn't I fear he will destroy himself over this petty game.
Do not talk ill of Vince. He could be Randy Moss and get going when going gets tough.
