It is easy for a person to say that they understand that they can sympathize with a person’s journey and what they have gone through. I recently read a poem about a young girl that killed herself because she thought she was fat. Some say it’s easy for me to have an opinion about it because I don’t know what it is like to be overweight. Yes, that is true. I don’t know what it is like to be overweight, but everyone has a problem with something about themselves. The only difference is the way each person handles it individually. We live in a society that constantly critics, criticize, judges, and down plays everyone else. We are so worried about how the outside world views us that we do not take the time to see how we view ourselves. There are millions of young girls in the world that think the way the girl in the poem did. There are millions of girls and young women who look to these models, celebrities as role models. But are they really role models? How can we let other people dictate how we view ourselves? No longer did the young girl smile; no longer was she this sweet innocent girl, but a corpse lying in a casket on display for everyone to see. If no one stands up and say perfection does not exist, and that you accept yourself, then nothing will ever change. Society will continue to control who you are and we will continue to live in a vortex of pretenders, self doubt, and insecurities. It’s time to stand up! No longer will we let another young beautiful girl end her life because of the shallowness of Hollywood! No longer will another girl look in the mirror and say she is not good enough, beautiful enough. No longer will an innocent life be taking out of this world for such outlandish reasons. Stand up! Rejoice and accept yourselves as you are! No one is perfect. Sometimes the journey to perfection is much more powerful than achieving perfection itself. Until we accept that we will forever be holding ourselves back. You are beautiful! Each and every one of you all out there are beautiful. Stop letting other people tell you if you are worthy or not. Ladies, you are worthy! I believe it; you just have to believe it yourself. Look in the mirror and say “I am Beautiful! I am Worthy!”

I love you Min We's and I tried hard to write a re-cap on Real Chance of Love, but its so hard. Its truly hard recapping on this guilty pleasure of mines. So instead of a full review, I will give you some key things that came to mind from this episode.

MILF is really not a MILF, I don't care what no one says. I truly don't mean to talk about anyone (but apparently I am) but she looks extremely old and washed out, but to some guys, they say she has a banging body tho... I guess....

Corn Fed, one of the chicks was telling Real she has never been with a black man and she is just looking for a experience. He confronted her, she fed him what he wanted to hear, but she will not be there for long.

KO is just a boxer, thats it, she won't be around for long.

PROMO gets on my last nerves. She came on the show for Real, but Real didnt pick her, Chance did, so she took Chance chain knowing she wanted Real. Now if you knew u didn't want him, shouldn't have taken chain in the first place. She had a convo with Real got in his good graces and Chance saw this. In the end Real picked her, then that's when she started feeling all bad and confused blah go sit ur annoying blonde behind to down!

Rabbit is cool,but she hasn't really stepped up to the plate.

So Hood is just that, I don't know if she will stick around, I think she may be too much for Chance.

Sexy Legs went home because Chance lied on that girl telling his brother she and him were doing some things, which he did only to make his brother made when he saw real with Promo. The girl spoke to Chance but never gave him the time of day.

Right now Real getting all the attention and love from the girls.

Restaurant-Style Buffalo Chicken Wings

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* oil for deep frying
* 1/4 cup butter
* 1/4 cup hot sauce
* 1 dash ground black pepper
* 1 dash garlic powder
* 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
* 1/4 teaspoon paprika
* 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
* 1/4 teaspoon salt
* 10 chicken wings

DIRECTIONS

1. Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). The oil should be just enough to cover wings entirely, an inch or so deep. Combine the butter, hot sauce, pepper and garlic powder in a small saucepan over low heat. Stir together and heat until butter is melted and mixture is well blended. Remove from heat and reserve for serving.
2. In a small bowl mix together the flour, paprika, cayenne pepper and salt. Place chicken wings in a large nonporous glass dish or bowl and sprinkle flour mixture over them until they are evenly coated. Cover dish or bowl and refrigerate for 60 to 90 minutes.
3. Fry coated wings in hot oil for 10 to 15 minutes, or until parts of wings begin to turn brown. Remove from heat, place wings in serving bowl, add hot sauce mixture and stir together. Serve.

W. was a decent movie. I wasn't expecting it to be 2.5 hrs!!!(it was more time than I was willing to spend on a Bush movie) It definitely gave a great view of the human side of Bush, basically why he is the way he is. I like country redneck Bush.... I like him OUTSIDE of office. He would be A okay outside of office........The things we do to please our parents...Sigh. Decent Movie...To Long.. Go at your own risk and if you are a patient person.

Overall is was funny and OMG the Condi character in itself was a riot!!!!!

Okay, I tried to do a review of Chance of Love for you folks, but it was just not happening. Its such a love/hate with this show, it's my guilty pleasure. The show was craziness at its best, with women willing to do anything for Chance and Real, of course Real's hair was the star of the show. It was beyond fabulous I wanted to touch it just one time, thats all. The girls were given some crazy names such as Promo, KO, So Hood, Bey Bey, MILF, Stalker, and other ridiculous names. I spent most of the time watching this show while on Twitter. Wall Street was mostly higher Monday as investors took signs of easing in the credit markets as evidence that government measures to revive the battered financial system are taking hold. (Oct. 20) Let's hope this sticks. I honestly think our financial system, is starting to take notice to the problems and corruptions and we are on the road to recovery, but it won't be the end of the bad moments.

Chocolate Strawberry Shortcake

INGREDIENTS (Nutrition)

* 2 (1 ounce) squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped
* 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
* 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
* 1 teaspoon baking soda
* 1/2 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 cup white sugar
* 1/3 cup margarine
* 1 cup sour milk
*
* 2 tablespoons orange liqueur
* 1 (16 ounce) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
* 1 quart fresh strawberries
* 2 (1 ounce) squares semisweet chocolate, chopped

DIRECTIONS

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Grease and flour 2 (9 inch) pans. In the top of a double boiler, heat unsweetened chocolate, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Remove from heat and allow to cool to lukewarm.
2. In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar. Cut in margarine until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Blend in sour milk and melted unsweetened chocolate. Divide batter into prepared pans.
3. Bake in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Allow to cool. Sprinkle cakes with orange liqueur.
4. Reserve 8 to 10 strawberries and slice the rest. Place one cake on a serving plate, top with half of the sliced strawberries and half of whipped topping. Cover with second layer, top with remaining strawberries and whipped topping. Garnish with whole strawberries. In the top of a double boiler, heat semisweet chocolate, stirring occasionally, until chocolate is melted and smooth. Drizzle over the strawberries.

Jazz City Java- Eastern New Orleans

Jazz City Java Coffeehouse is a newly established, family-owned jazz-themed coffeehouse in Eastern New Orleans. It is owned and operated by the brother/sister team of Cedric A. Ellsworth and Lisa Ellsworth. We are located in the Lake Bullard corridor on Bullard Ave., near Lake Forest (old bowling alley complex). Jazz City Java serves gourmet coffee, teas, espresso, smoothies and frozen blended coffee drinks along with fresh pastries and assorted desserts. Additionally, Jazz City Java serves lunch from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm featuring delectable Panini sandwiches. Our hours of operation are Monday – Friday 6:30 am. - 6:00 pm, Saturday 8:00 am. – 4:00 pm.

Our environment is friendly and inviting, offering Free WIFI and a continuous stream of jazz music. Jazz City Java hosts a number of events throughout the year to provide an opportunity for the neighbors of Eastern New Orleans to gather as a community.

Our next event will feature an exhibit by local artist, Paul R. Boudreaux, with works on display October 18th through November 30th, 2008. Paul will host an opening show on Saturday, October 18th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.


Paul R. Boudreaux was born in New Orleans. He paints with oil, acrylic, watercolor and also works in pastel. Paul specializes in all genres of art. Paul recently expanded his art into the field of photography.

Paul is a member of the Arts Council of New Orleans, the Memphis Art Emporium and the Arts Market of New Orleans. He is also an accomplished Musician, Songwriter and Record Producer by profession.

Come out to Jazz City Java Coffeehouse on Saturday, October 18th, from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. to meet the artist and view his works. Paul will be there to introduce his art. The show is free and open to the public. His art works will be available for purchase.

Hole was an American alternative rock band that formed in Los Angeles in 1989 and disbanded in 2002. The band was fronted by Courtney Love, and co-founded by Love, Eric Erlandson (lead guitar) and Lisa Roberts (bassist and Love's neighbor who dropped the project very early on). Love has stated that she took the name for the band from "my husband's favorite drinking spot", but this claim is dubious, since she met Cobain [her husband] the year after Hole was formed.

Hole had a brief period as a three-guitar lineup, with the musician Errol Stewert, but the lineup that recorded the first album included only Love, Erlandson, bassist Jill Emery and drummer Caroline Rue. Rue was fired in 1992 and Emery left soon after, to be replaced by Leslie Hardy and Patty Schemel, respectively. Hardy left after recording just one single with the band, "Beautiful Son", and was subsequently replaced by Kristen Pfaff in 1993. After Pfaff died of a drug overdose in 1994, Melissa Auf der Maur took her place from 1995 until the band's dissolution in 2002. When Schemel left the band in 1998, Samantha Maloney took her place as drummer. On VH1's countdown of the 100 Greatest Hard Rock Bands, Hole was number 77.

Biography

Joseph Robinette Biden Jr., age 65, was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, on November 20, 1942, to Joseph Sr. and Jean Biden. He was the oldest of four children. In 1953, the Biden family moved from Pennsylvania to Claymont, Delaware. Biden attended parochial school at St. Helena’s School in Wilmington and the Archmere Academy in Claymont. Public service was part of the Biden family, with one of Joe's great grandfathers serving as a Pennsylvania state senator.

After graduating from the University of Delaware in 1965 and from law school at Syracuse University in 1968, Biden moved back to the Wilmington area and set up his own law firm. He practiced law until 1972.

In 1970, Biden – at age 27 – ran for New Castle County Council and won in a Republican district. At age 29, he launched an improbable bid to unseat two-term Republican U.S. Sen. J. Caleb Boggs. With very little help from the state establishment, and with his sister as his campaign manager, Biden defeated Boggs by 3,162 votes.

The White Stripes is an American alternative rock band, formed in 1997 in Detroit, Michigan. The group consists of songwriter Jack White (vocals and guitar) and Meg White (drums), who have remained the consistent line-up.

Finding a lump in your breast means you have breast cancer.

The Truth
If you discover a persistent lump in your breast or any changes in breast tissue, it is very important that you see a physician immediately. However, 8 out of 10 breast lumps are benign, or not cancerous. Sometimes women stay away from medical care because they fear what they might find. Take charge of your health by performing routine breast self-exams, establishing ongoing communication with your doctor, and scheduling regular mammograms.

The Myth
Men do not get breast cancer.

The Truth
Quite the contrary. Each year it is estimated that approximately 1,700 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and 450 will die. While this percentage is still small, men should also give themselves regular breast self-exams and note any changes to their physicians.

A mammogram can cause breast cancer to spread.

The Truth
A mammogram, or X-ray of the breast, is one of the best tools available for the early detection of breast cancer. It CANNOT cause cancer to spread, nor can the pressure put on the breast from the mammogram. Do not let tales of other people's experiences keep you from having a mammogram. Base your decision on your physician's recommendation and be sure to discuss any questions or concerns with your doctor.

While women who have a family history of breast cancer are in a higher risk group, most women who have breast cancer have no family history. If you have a mother, daughter, sister, or grandmother who had breast cancer, you should have a mammogram five years before the age of their diagnosis, or starting at age 35.

A Tribe Called Quest is an American hip-hop group, formed in 1988. The group is composed of rapper/producer Q-Tip (Kamal Fareed), rapper Phife Dawg (Malik Taylor), and DJ/producer Ali Shaheed Muhammad. A fourth member, rapper Jarobi White, left the group after their first album but appears to have rejoined the group since 2006. Along with De La Soul, the group was a central part of the Native Tongues Posse, and enjoyed the most commercial success out of all the groups to emerge from that collective. Their innovative fusing of hip hop and jazz has had a lasting impact on hip hop music, helping to expand the art of hip hop production. Many of their songs, such as "Bonita Applebum", "Can I Kick It?", "I Left My Wallet in El Segundo", "Scenario", "Check the Rhime", and "Electric Relaxation" are regarded as classics of the genre.

They released five albums in ten years, the first three of which were very highly acclaimed, and disbanded in 1998. In 2006, the group reunited and toured the US and plan to release an album after some works in the studio. The group is generally regarded as pioneers of alternative hip hop music, having helped to pave the way for socially aware hip-hop artists. I was watching The Killers perform on SNL this weekend and I remembered just how cool the killers are and wanted to share with you wonderful Min We's.

The Killers are an American rock band from Las Vegas, Nevada. Formed in 2002, the group consists of Brandon Flowers (vocals, keyboards), Dave Keuning (guitar, vocals), Mark Stoermer (bass guitar, vocals) and Ronnie Vannucci Jr., (percussion, drums) with Ray Suen often providing support during live performances.

Part of the post-punk revival movement, The Killers draw influence from music styles of the 1980s and 1990s. The group's debut album, Hot Fuss (2004) brought the band mainstream success. The Killers' second album, Sam's Town, was released in 2006, and the compilation album Sawdust containing B-sides, rarities, and new material, was released in 2007. The band's first two albums have sold in excess of 12 million copies worldwide combined. The group is currently working on their third album, entitled Day & Age, which is being produced by Stuart Price.
