Can you tell me a little about your book?
Sole Food is a collection of stories, essays and poetry dedicated to sneaker culture and identification within the culture. I had a lot of fun doing it and it is riddled with references to my favorite author (William Faulkner) and my favorite pieces of literature and specific shoes. (at times)

When did your love for sneakers get started? My love for the kicks started pretty early. I remember asking my mother for a pair of Nikes when I was in first grade. I told her that they made you run fast. She presented me with a pair of white Nike blazers with an electric blue swoosh.

What made you decide to write a book? I had been planning/wanting to do one for a while. I read Crystal Ellis’ Character Flaws in 2004 and got motivated. After reading Garcia’s “Where’d you get those?” It was a wrap! The seeds for Sole Food had been planted.

About how many sneakers do you own? The actual answer is in the book, but let’s just says that I could go at least 2.5 years without wearing the same pair twice.
